Developed by Tulga Games, the MMORPG Horizons: Empire of Istaria immerses players in an online fantasy world of magic and mystery. Istaria is a land populated by monsters, magic, heroes, and colossal cities. Horizons is the only fantasy MMORPG to offer gamers the opportunity to play as a dragon, earning skills and abilities as they grow from a hatchling to adult.
11 playable fantasy races: Dragons, Satyrs, Dryads, Humans and Elves populate the world and offer players distinct physical, mental and magical abilities.
Virtually unlimited exploration potential: Soar through the skies as a flying creature, or dig deep into the earth when building a dragon?s lair. Istaria is a land without ?zones? or predetermined player movement boundaries, thus allowing adventurers to explore the entire game world without limits.
There are eleven playable races in Horizons; Dragons, Dwarves, Dryads, Elves, Fiends, Gnomes, Half-Giants, Saris, Satyr, and Sslik. Dryads and Satyrs have been released through the actions of the players and in-game events since the game was released in December 2003. Characters in Horizons have a number of ways to differentiate themselves from one another. The species and gender you choose will be the most obvious difference between you and another character, but we offer many other ways as well. Your appearance is fully customizable. Players can change their character's skin tone, hairstyle, hair color, facial features, apparent age, as well as their clothing. We also support morphing your body structure from fat to thin, muscular to wiry, and everywhere in-between.
Each subscription entitles a player to own one plot of land at any one time. Plots are available throughout the game world from the settled lands in the west to the Frontier in the distant east. New plots are added to the game from time to time as new lands become available or are reclaimed. Plots are purchased at the plot itself, either from the Empire or from another player. Once you own a plot of land you can build many different types of structures on that property such as houses, shops, fountains, factories, etc. You can place them anywhere on the plot you want within the confines of the borders.
