Game Data
The Wilderness is a dark and dangerous place, inhabited not only by demons, dragons and hellhounds, but also players with the intent to kill. Player killers walk through the Wilderness looking for others to hunt, to kill and take their items. All who enter the Wilderness should take heed, for it is not safe, and danger is all around. Multi-combat areas are identified upon entering by two crossed swords appearing in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Anywhere else is classed as a single combat area. Multi-combat areas are especially dangerous in the Wilderness as more than one player can attack you at one time. This could be beneficial to a player because by attacking as a team you will decrease your chances of dying and will increase your chances of defeating stronger players.
The world's true name is Gielinor, although the majority of the world's inhabitants refer to it as RuneScape. It was created many ages ago, although there is some debate about which of the gods was responsible for this.
Three gods have played important roles in the recent history of RuneScape. These are Saradomin, Zamorak and Guthix.
Saradomin is an old-fashioned god who praises virtue and looks kindly upon players who sing his praises. His shrines are mostly scattered around the lands inhabited by humans.
Zamorak is an evil god; he glories in death and destruction, also in anything nasty happening to Saradomin. Zamorak is rather reminiscent of a sports master, and is worshipped by a wide range of unpleasant creatures, most of which will attack anyone who approaches them. He claims to originate from the race of the Mahjarrat.
Guthix is the god of Balance. Genderless and without any particular tendency to either Good or Evil, it may be considered as a god of nature.
When you finish the Throne of Miscellania quest, you become regent and ruler of Miscellania. You can control the kingdom and if you encourage your subjects to work, reap the rewards. You can help your subjects and invest money in the kingdom in return for coal, wood, herbs and fish. Further to this, when you finish the Royal Trouble quest, you can also get rare wood (teak and mahogany) and farming seeds.

RuneScape is a massive multi-player adventure, with monsters to kill, quests to complete, and treasure to win. You control your own character who will improve and become more powerful the more you play. This isn't a game where everything that happens is pre-determined. What you do in the world is up to you!
