Ragnarok Online

ragnarok online sreenshotI think Ragnarok is a great MMORPG; if only the year was 1998. Honestly, I think it stands no chance against WoW, Final Fantasy, and WAR. Plus the battle system isn't that innovative given the possibility of it ending up like a hack-and-slash fest. Since there are new and much better games than this, It is obvious that this game is dying. There are still a lot of people playing Ro but yes the population is decreasing.

ragnarok onlineThe grinding is even worse, and if you don't buy anything from their cash shops, you're simply meat to make fun the game of those who do. PvP is fun in this game, there are pvp arenas you can warp too, and the main PvP attraction in RO, is The War of Emperium. In each of the main towns, there are 4-5 castles, and each can be taken and held by clans. RO is a good game in a way. It's simple and fun, plain and simple. The ability to customize your stats and equipment, and appearance appeals to me.

The most exciting changes to happen in RO since its release happens last year.  Its a wide redefining of the game.  It should give the game a few more years, especially now after they gave it a jolt by making the game free2play. Dont expect a WoW, FFXI, EQ, or something on those lines with box prices and huge projects. If you just want to have fun screwing around instead of going hardcore, I think you'll like RO.
