Lords of the Rings Online
The games graphics have a fantasy feel to them unlike games like Everquest 2 and Vanguard.Leveling is progressive. Not too easy that they fly by, but not too dull that you are stuck grinding. The environments look great, i had fun with the progression of my character at first, but you get so many different skills and traits so early in the game that, after a while, progression and learning new traits and skills wasn't very rewarding. I'm one of those MMO gamers who love the character creation process. I'm pleased to say that LOTRO has a broad array of options to get your character looking the way you want him or her. Another great touch is the keyboard-playable musical instrument feature, and I recently saw a band of players in Comb trying to play the theme tune from the LOTR movie.
I also enjoy how crafting can make you items as good as, if not better, than what you can get out in the field. Also, many of the items you can craft require items that can only be made by a different crafting profession. The epic questline which takes you from level 1 to level 50 is the hook rather than the item driven games like WoW where it is only as fun as your next item of level. Most people that play LOTRO don't even realize when they level, or care.Weapons and armor in this game aren't give a fantasy flare, this decreases people's desire to acquire better loot and focus more on the story, which in my opinion is written very well.
