Fallen Earth

fallen earth sreenshotFallen Earth is a post-apocalyptic, massively multiplayer online first person shooter with strong role playing game elements. It has the fun sandbox type of gameplay lots of people will like. The American Southwest is the last known cradle of civilization after natural disasters and nuclear war devastate the planet, and it's here that you'll struggle against the mutated beasts and lawless brigands that threaten what's left of humanity.Fallen Earth satisfies players that wants to spend countless hours tweaking character and exploring a vast world while learning how to craft, combat, and interact with an environment. The game has a very steep learning curve.  I've played several MMO's in the past 8 years from WoW to LotRO, Age of Conan, EVE online and Final Fantasy.  I have simply never died as much in any of those games as I have in Fallen Earth.  I enjoy a challenge, but this was a bit much for me. Fallen Earth is definitely a game for more experienced and/or jaded players looking for something new and innovative and fun.

fallen earth sreenshotThe post apocalyptic setting gives the mmo genre some new life. You don't seem limited to anything you want to do in Fallen Earth. Alot of combat options and you can learn alot of trade skills.Crafting is a neccessary skill in Fallen Earth and if you as a gamer hates crafting or even dislike crafting i would not recommend this game for you.Fallen Earth takes a free form approach to skills. You don’t choose a profession, you just upgrade the skills you want. Mutations are where you get the 'spell' type abilities as they can heal buff debuff and damage.

I was surprised by the visual quality of this game. There is a gigantic environment with pretty good graphics. You can look at all the textures and you won’t find much wrong. The animations on the other hand aren’t that good. Recently there was a graphical update and I did notice a better looking game afterwards. Fallen Earth has its pleasures, particularly once you reach its second major region and discover the wealth of content factional missions provide.Quests are extremely well written, so while most of them are kill-this, collect-that tropes, they give superb context to your actions. You'll meet a grieving husband who has created a family of pitiable human shells in trying to clone his dead wife. Rival gangs play off each other as they vie for regional dominance.
