Game Data & Story
There are a several clans in EUO and all have various requirements. Being in a clan is purely optional. Currently, the only advantage to being affiliated with a clan is the clan chat feature (using "/c <text>") used for fun and easy talk between friends in your clan. Since v1.007 werewolves/lycanthropes has been introduced as well as moon cycles. Heres how it works:
Every 6 hours of real time is one full moon cycle game time, both waning and waxing. The more notable phases are the new moon and the full moon. Nothing happens during the new moon, it's the midpoint between full moons. At every full moon, once midnight strikes (00:00 game time) a few werewolf monsters are spawned and any players with the L status, Lycanthropy, turn into werewolves. Once changed, all equipment is removed and your sprite is changed to a werewolf sprite. You cannot use any potions or equipment like rafts or grappling hooks. You AS, AC and speed now depend on your level and you can fully heal yourself by eating corpses.
Merchants also shun players diseased with lycanthropy. Player merchants included, even your own. To get Lycanthropy, during a full moon get bitten by either a player werewolf or a monster werewolf. Every bite is a chance to contract the disease. Once you do get the L status, you won't transform until the next full moon.

EUO is a multiplayer, persistant-world RPG inspired by Ultima 4 & 5.
New Sosaria is the name of the overworld continent in EUO where almost all of the townes , dungeons and shrines are located. It is made up of two basic subcontinents: Sosaria West (which extends all the way from the Shrine of Compassion in the far northwest to Seftonvale in the center) and Tanelorne in the east (which starts at Seftonvale in the center extending east to the desert, including Buccaneer's Den and the Isle of the Avatar in the far southeast).
Player Merchants provide one way for players to buy and sell junk from each other. Having acquired your own player merchant, you can load him up full of your miscellaneous periphery which your merchant will offer for sale to everyone else. You can then come back some time later to pick up the sales revenue that he has collected for you, assuming that he has actually sold anything.
