Dungeons and Dragons Online

Dungeons and Dragons OnlineIt, as probably everyone knows by now, is based on D20 Dungeon & Dragons rules, rather than your standard MMO rules.  This has been both its blessing and its curse. If you’re looking for the type of game where you go out, kill a pig and get some exp. it doesn't work that way. Experience is objective based. You can go through a Dungeon, Not kill a thing, and as long as you do the objective, you will get the same exp as if you went through and killed everything. The combat in this game is quite fun. Instead of just targeting a monster and mashing keys you actually have to aim, click to swing your sword, move around, and all that.

Dungeons and Dragons Online sreenshotYou can make whatever class combination you like although it might suck in the long run.  You really need to put some thought into character creation otherwise you'll end up rerolling later on because your character won't be able to do certain things. There is a wide option of classes and races to choose from. Races in the game have certain cons and benefits, so they aren't just for looks. The classes include melee, tank, spell caster, healer, rogue, archer, buffer etc. but they all can be fleshed out further to your liking and you can even dual class. Multi classing has its perks but you need to know what your doing or else you'll severely gimp yourself.

The community was really good for me, getting help was easy, though learning the terms that people said to me took awhile to grasp. Graphics are nicely done, the detail of the world is fabulous.  The one thing to note this is a dungeon running based game.  That is the majority of your quests, however there is an overworld as well with its own quests as well, though not as fun or thought provoking as dungeons. But be warned, this is not a free game, if you really want to enjoy the best, you'll need to unlock some content by paying.
