Canon

mmorpg game picture Canon, a free online multiplayer strategy game.No downloads are required to play, and the game is completely free - all that is required to join our game and community is a recent web browser.

The empire stands divided into three powerful factions led by Gods born into mortal flesh - Angelique, Leto and Barnabas - once powerful deities, now manifest in our lands. Bannermen rally to their sides as a hush falls across the land; the brief, terrifying moment of calm before the empire descends once more into all-consuming bloody warfare. Every player starts the game with a 500 acre kingdom, under new player protection. While under this protection, the length of which is normally 80 turns, you are protected against enemy actions against your kingdom. You are also unable to send money to other kingdoms until you leave new player protection.

MMORPG Data

Each game is around two months long, so it is worthwhile looking at the bigger picture when starting to build. Quarries/mines/mills determine how many buildings you can construct for each turn spent, so the more buildings of this type you construct at the start of the game (when the risk of being hit by other kingdoms is small), the fewer turns you have to spend constructing them later on to maintain a high build rate. Obviously if you can build 20 buildings per turn and your rival can only construct 10 per turn, you have a great advantage in building a kingdom. In games in which guilds are enabled (at the time of writing, Guilds, Maxim and Valid) this screen will display options relating to the creation, management and ranking of guilds. A guild is a collection of kingdoms who unite under one banner to further their agenda as set out in the guild charter. This agenda could be to fight for their God, to position themselves as powerful rulers, or to hire themselves out as mercenaries; each guild generally has a different view on their role (and goals) within Islan. Joining a guild entitles you to its protection, as unguilded kingdoms are generally seen as 'landfarms' to be picked upon at will. Perhaps the greatest benefit of joining a guild, however, is the training and comradeship provided by the better guilds in the game.

Canon presents you with several different opportunities to demolish your opponent, or to flail ineffectively against their well marshalled defences, if you are not careful. All war functions cost 4 turns - this cost increases if the target kingdom's networth is markedly larger or smaller than your own. To attack an opponent, select the preferred method of assault and enter their kingdom number before pressing 'attack'. A controlled strike will pit the entirety of your force against a fraction of their armies, making it more likely that you will succeed and take land from their kingdom. The higher the acreage you aim for, the higher proportion of their army your force will find opposing them. The target amount must be entered in the "acreage to sieze" box.

Setting an ambush will increase the potence of your defence for the next incoming attack - at which point it will have to be manually set once more. Doing so always costs 4 turns. Guerilla raiding sends your type one and two troops (see Troop Information) and your thieves against their equivalent forces in your enemy's kingdom. If successful, you will kill the troops involved in the battle and also a number of enemy peasants. No land is ever taken in guerilla raids.
