Atlantica Online

I am amazed at how much I am enjoying this game. Atlantica is a truly original MMO game though it borrows it's combat formula from old single player japanese console RPG games. In the past 4 years all we have been see'ing is clone after clone with no unique MMO's, just developerss trying to copy the "old" good thing and bank on it. NDOORS took a chance and made something new and different.In Atlantica Online i really liked the traditional turned-based combat and the formation elements. Unlike most games where you just focus on gear,  in Atlantica you need to come up with a strategy.

Atlantica has a very interesting gameplay and group/guild system.
Think of a mix of "Heroes of Might&Magic" and Final Fantasy. Where you control upto 8 mercenaries. It is far more strategic than I first thought it would be, and I have had to do loads of research. It seems that there is no cookie cutter formation and people seem to be winning at pvp with different varieties of mercenaries in their set up.The other players are really helpful and more than willing to go out of their way to assist the new players out  either by gifting coins or items.

If you like turn based games you will like Atlantica. Being a former WoW player as well, I was looking for something that didn't just have the point and click to kill a mob but looking for something that actually made you think about what you are doing and how you are going to accomplish the goals that you pick up along the way.The cash shop is actually pretty bad and my main problem with the game. While the world environment, storyline, and atmosphere not very immersive, the combat, economy, community features, and other elements can be.  Thus there's always something to do if you get bored for a short period of time. Even though there is much to criticize about this game, I never feel heavily discouraged by its shortcomings since they are outweighed heavily by the game's strengths and innovations.
